NASA Mission
Completed
With smiles of
satisfaction, the
scientists and support
staff of NASA Mission
TC4 completed a
three-week research on
cloud formation in the
tropics.
The different
experiments were held
mostly aboard three lab
planes –ER-2, DC-8 and
WB-57– which flew from
Juan Santamaria (San
José) International
Airport, where NASA has
had a temporary hangar
for some time.
According to TC4
scientist Brian Toon,
the research will
provide tools to improve
weather forecasts and
models of weather change
in the world.
NASA invested some us$20
million in the Costa
Rica-based mission,
which involved 200
researchers and
technicians. |
