Lula to Mexico: Join
South America

called on Mexico Monday
to join a trade bloc
made up of entire South
America.
In a meeting among
entrepreneurs from both
countries, attended by
Mexican President Felipe
Calderon, the first
activity of Lula's state
visit to Mexico, he
asserted the bloc only
lacks the boldness to
become a world power.
The Brazilian president
said it is time to start
dreaming about an
integration process that
could be the strongest
in Latin America.
He repeatedly insisted
on establishing a large
investment market
between both countries
and called on those
present to join efforts
in the field of energy.
There are great,
extraordinary
opportunities for
businesses from both
nations to become
partners in
international projects.
For his part, Calderon
said he appreciated
Lula's invitation to
Mexico to have a greater
presence in Latin
America, especially in
the Southern Market.
He said Mexico wants the
same things expressed by
the Brazilian President:
"a socially integrated,
politically democratic
space with solidarity."
