More Gasoline Price Hikes On the
Way
Loosen your purse strings even
more, as gasoline prices take
another hike upwards, as the
Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (Recope), continues
with its weekly request for
higher prices at the pumps.
Yesterday, Recope asked the
Autoridad Reguladora de los
Servicios Públicos (Aresep) for
an increase of a whopping ¢40
colones for a litre of regular
gasoline, meanwhile the study on
the request for a ¢34 colones
increase in the price of super
is ongoing.
Last Saturday, the price of
regular gasoline increased ¢16
colones and two days earlier a
litre of super gasoline saw the
same increase.
When approved, the price of a
litre of regular gasoline will
go from the current ¢509 to
¢549.
The Aresep has up to May 4 to
make a decision on the super and
15 working days (May 9) on the
regular.
