Ecuador, Brazil to Raise
Cooperation
Ecuadorian President Rafael
Correa is arranging final
preparations for his 3-day visit
to Brazil on Tuesday, where he
will sign eight cooperation
deals.
The agreements to be signed by
Correa and his Brazilian
counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula Da
Silva, aim to reinforce
bilateral relations and teamwork
in energy and health, a foreign
ministry source announced in
this capital.
Both parties will commit to
boost agricultural and
productive development programs,
to achieve food security.
Ecuador is also expected to ask
for Brazilian cooperation to
produce biofuels in coastal
areas of the Andean country,
local press noted.
In statements on the weekend,
Correa affirmed he will analyze
with Lula the participation of
Petrobras Oil Company in a
project in the
Ishpingo-Tambococha-Tiputini
(ITT) oilfield.
