Chavez s Backers Get Ready
The integration of the
organizations supporting the
reelection of Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez, grouped
in the Miranda Command Campaign,
is in its final stage, Francisco
Ameliach, head of that force,
affirmed.
Ameliach highlighted that the
movement involves more than
290,000 people organized into
979 parochial structures, 23
state bodies, 335 municipals,
11,000 battalions and over
33,000 squads.
He ratified September 9 as the
date to hold the swearing in
ceremony of those units and
announced the activation of the
over 3 million-member group to
undertake a face-to-face process
to help clear up doubts among
the population.
In the face of reelection, the
opposition seeks a single
candidacy in Manuel Rosales and
also mobilizes forces in an
attempt to reduce the difference
between them and Chavez.
Recent polls show the president
favorite with possibilities of
gaining even more voter
confidence before the December 3
elections.
