FSLN Confident over Alliances
The coordinator of the National
Liberation Sandinista Front (FSLN)
Edwin Castro dismissed here that
the electoral strategy of
arranging alliances with old
political enemies could have
negative results for his party.
"I believe these 16 years of
neo-liberal policies have made
those who did not share the FSLN
statements feel attracted to our
commitment to fight against
poverty", asserted Castro to
Prensa Latina.
According to the deputy the FSLN
and its old opponents, who also
confronted the Sandinista
government (1979-1990) with the
arms, are now united with the
aim of social justice.
Most of them are now landless,
unemployed, in misery and
without future for their
children, emphasized Castro
referring to the members of the
so-called Nicaraguan Resistance
armed and financed by United
States during the 80th.
The legislator recalled the FSLN
is directly responsible for the
democratic system in Nicaragua.
