Honduras Holy Legacy Looted
The looting of Honduras religious heritage has reached outrageous levels, taking into account that at least 14 catholic temples have been robbed in only nine months.

The last of those misdeeds occurred Monday at the catholic church of Villa de San Antonio, in the central department of Comayagua, where several paintings and religious statuettes from the 18th century were stolen.

Local police authorities have declared "an alert at all customs" to prevent such pieces from being taken abroad.

In the last decade, dozens of catholic temples have been looted in the country, police sources admitted, adding that according to related investigations, the criminals work for European and US collectors.
