Countdown for Venezuela
Elections
Campaign closings, the
suspension of work at the
educational centers and the
display of international
observers mark the final stage
of the Venezuelan electoral
process in its countdown towards
December 3.
As part of the preparations,
activities of the present school
year have gone into recess until
Tuesday in order to set
conditions for the fitting of
the voting centers, many of them
at schools.
Similarly, missions of electoral
observation by the European
Union and the Organization of
American States are displaying
their experts throughout the
country s states and the Capital
District.
The Miranda Campaign Command,
supporting the reelection of
President Hugo Chavez, expects
to close activities in the state
of Zulia on Wednesday with the
country s highest electoral roll
of more than a million potential
voters.
Authorities have prohibited
alcoholic drinks, meetings and
public demonstrations which
could affect the development of
the elections.
On Sunday, the people will give
a new lesson on democratic and
peaceful practice to the sectors
in favor of the coup, stressed
Cilia Flores, president of the
Venezuelan parliament.
