Analyst Says Latin American Unity No Accident
Nicaraguan analyst Aldo Diaz Lacayo said that left-wing governments' arrival to power in Latin America, whose recent examples are currently represented by Nicaragua and Ecuador, has an objective explication, and is not spontaneous.

"Latin America is living a new impetus of geopolitical unity, and this started much before the left-wing forces' renovation on the continent," the historian stated in the TV program "Esta Semana."

To illustrate his thesis, Diaz Lacayo recalled that the Brazilian political Constitution promises since 1988, much before Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's arrival to power, to form the Latin American community of nations.

In his opinion, with the exhaustion of the so-called Washington Agreement, Latin American countries are trying to organize a regional mechanism to face international financial organizations.

The Washington Agreement was established in the 90's to rule neoliberal policies by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the rest of international financial institutions.
