"Gordo" Is Selling Like Hotcakes
Feeling lucky and ready to cash
in on the annual Christmas
lottery? Better hurry, as the
"Gordo" as it is referred to is
selling like the proverbial
hotcakes.
The Junta de Protección Social
(JPS) says it has sold more than
one half (51% or 255.000) of the
issued lottery tickets in the
first 20 days.
The draw is set for December 17,
when the traditional location of
the Plaza de la Cultura in
downtown San José in converted
into a lottery central, as a
stage is erected on the north
side of the Teatro Nacional that
will hold the lottery draw live.
The cost of an entire ticket -
series and number - is ¢28.000
colones and a fraction is ¢700.
