CONCACAF Champions Cup
Costa Rica's Saprissa defeated
Mexico's Toluca 3-2 on Wednesday
but Toluca advanced to the
CONCACAF Champions Cup finals
4-3 on aggregate.
Toluca won the first leg 2-0 at
home last week.
Toluca will face fellow Mexican
team America in the finals next
month, after America eliminated
another Costa Rican squad,
Alajuelense on a 2-1 aggregate.
Saprissa's Randall Azofeifa
opened the scoring a minute
after halftime, and teammate
Alvaro Saborio doubled the lead
10 minutes later.
Toluca's Ismael Valadez began
the comeback in the 59th and
Vicente Sanchez equalized with a
minute left in regulation.
Gerald Drummond scored for
Saprissa in injury time, but it
was too late to push the Costa
Ricans over the top.
