Salvadorians against Health Privatization
The governmental reforms in relation to Public Health tend to privatize that sector in El Salvador, Wednesday assured leader of the Health Workers Union Mario Arevalo.

Although did not refer to specific departments, he stated that some reports confirm most of centers have been privatized in the country's eastern and western regions.

Another reason sparking workers' protests is the lack of medical supplies and insufficient staff.

Due to the existing situation, medical workers Wednesday marched until the Treasury Department to ask Minister William Handal for the needed subsidy to solve the sector's problem.

According to the leader, they expect to have a favorable response if they take back streets on Thursday and Friday.

The union warned it would maintain the protests and hold strikes in the country's public hospitals if the executive does not listen to their requests and meet their demands.
