Honduras to Debate Delinquent
Youth
Honduran Human Rights
Commissioner Ramon Custodio has
affirmed that the National
Congress will re-open in July
discussions on youth
delinquency, abuse, child
exploitation and rising domestic
violence.
Custodio noted the
inter-institutional commission
against delinquency, composed of
Congressional deputies, his
organization and a local law
school, will realize a study and
overhaul legislature.
He added that the meeting should
launch a proposal over the
consolidation of laws dealing
with measures to prevent youth
delinquency, abuse, child
exploitation and domestic
violence.
The Congress should also analyze
the crimes committed by gangs
that have grown in recent
months.
The Human Rights representative
emphasized that since many
exploited boys, girls and teens
are seriously addicted to drugs,
the Executive and every
institution must outline a
strategy to eradicate that
scourge.
