Bolivar Legacy Extolled in Panama
An academic of the Bolivarian University of Venezuela asserted dreams of Liberator Simon Bolivar have been materialised in the Revolution led by President Hugo Chavez.

University professor Menry Fernandez delivered a conference to open the "Forum-Debate on Bolivarian Integration of Our America" at the University of Panama´s Auditorium, where he was given a standing ovation.

The idea of a "continental sisterhood unity" is perceptible in the process implemented in Venezuela, asserted Fernandez, who worked as collaborator of Hugo Chavez and is presently an adviser at the Palacio de Miraflores (government headquarters).

"It is ripe time for our region to make the joint chant to benefit all people come true," and that is seen in Venezuela, the example of Cuba and the Bolivian steps on the right direction," he noted.

Participants at the two-day forum honors the 180th anniversary of the Anfictionico Congress, considered to be the first step taken by Simon Bolivar for the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean.

It is part of a project by teachers, students and union members before a huge rally to welcome President Hugo Chavez on June 22.
