Central America for Single Airspace
Guatemalan President Oscar Berger termed Friday the forthcoming signing of a bilateral air agreement with Honduras a transcendental step towards Central American integration.

With that deal, air travels from either country will be considered the same as domestic flights so passengers will avoid migration and customs procedures.

Berger noted the agreement will be clinched shortly with Honduras and expressed hope it could extend to El Salvador, Nicaragua and Belize soon.

This move complements the free trade agreement of the Northern Central American Triangle, composed of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, implemented in 1991 for their natural and manufactured products.
