South Korea Wants to Sell US More
South Korean companies are
showing an interest in
increasing their sales to Costa
Rica, so
much so that four trade missions
have visited Costa Rica this
year.
In just one day, South
Korean exporters handled 107
business appointments with 65
delegates of local firms.
Car
parts play a major role in the
deals, since Korean made Hyundai
and Kia vehicles are among the
leaders in the Costa Rican
market.
Tico firms are also
interested in special
construction materials, such as
aluminum panels.
While Korean
sales here amounted to us$90
million in 1998, they jumped to
us$126 million last year,
according to the local Foreign
Trade Promoter.
