Did You Feel It?
Two earthquakes shook most of
Costa Rica yesterday, reports
the Observatorio Vulcanológico y
Sismológico (Ovsicori) de la
Universidad Nacional.
The first, registering at 4.1 on
the Richter scale centred 25
kilometres northwest of Quepos,
occurred at 9:15am. The shake
was also felt in Jacó and the
Central Valley.
At 2:58pm, a second quake
registering 3.5 on the Richter
scale centred about 15km East of
Parrita and was also felt in San
José.
Both quakes are believed to be
aftershocks of the quake that
hit the area on November 20,
2004.
No damage or injuries were
reported in yesterday's
movements.
