St. Kitts and Nevis Ready to Establish Cultural and Trade Links with Costa Rica
St. Kitts and Nevis stands to benefit from the appointment of an Honourary Consul General in Costa Rica.

British-born Mr. Jonathan Curshen, who has been recently appointed to the post, disclosed on Wednesday that he has invited over 200 top officials from the Costa Rican government, National Assembly, business and banking sectors, lawyers and travel agencies to a reception at Hotel Real Intercontinental to mark the official opening of the Consular General’s Office in San José on June 22nd.

“My role is to facilitate and develop relations – both public and private – in the Central American and Latin American region with my focus being in Costa Rica, which is where the Honorary Consulate is based,” said Curshen.

As Honourary Consular General, he will be working on developing cultural and educational exchanges between Costa Rica and St. Kitts and Nevis and develop agreements that will help to facilitate easier business and take advantage of the new CARICOM-Costa Rica Free Trade Agreement and how it can be best utilized to the benefit of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Mr. Curshen, who has been involved in financial services for over a decade and manages a leading law firm in San José said he plans to organize a commercial mission later this year which will bring together some 300 leading business people from several sectors with government and business leaders from St. Kitts and Nevis.

“They will make presentations and share with them why St. Kitts and Nevis is a great place to do business and facilitate exportation of products under the CARICOM-Costa Rica Trade Agreement,” said Curshen,
