Gasoline Prices to Increase
Again
It's been weeks since rising
gasoline prices has been on
anyone's mind. But, around thr
corner is another increase.
The Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (RECOPE) - the state
controlled oild refinery and
producer of gasoline products -
has asked for an increase that
would see a litre of super
gasoline jump from the current
¢399 colones to ¢411 colones.
Regular gasoline will jump from
¢381 colones to ¢393 colones and
diesel from ¢286 colones to ¢295
colones.
RECOPE says the increase is
necessary due to a rise in the
price of crude on on world
markets this past two weeks.
The Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) -
the government regulator of
public prices and services - has
fifteen days to study the
request and make a decision to
approve or reject it.
