Silenced for Revealing Bribes
The former finance manager of EBI -the Canadian company that manages the La Carpio landfill in La Uruca, close to San José -, Sebastien Henault, was threatened by EBI Group attorneys in order to prevent him from disclosing details on the firm's activities in Costa Rica.

In 2001, Henault had disclosed his disagreement with the "policy for the payment of bribes."

The Spanish language daily La Nación tried to talk to Henault in Canada, but he abstained from making any statements due to a confidentiality arrangement with EBI.

The latter was entered as part of an arrangement when the case was tried at a court in Quebec.
