Couple's Quarrel Ends In Death
Two gunshots to the chest ended
the life of 52 year old José
Daniel Guadamuz Mata at the
hands of her live in girlfriend
of seven years.
Rosalía Carrillo Mora shot her "marido"
following a violent argument
Sunday night in Sitradique de
Parrita, north of Quepos, after
the man threathned to kill her.
The couple had been separated
for the last six months though
Guadamuz helped the woman
economically. According to one
of the woman's daughters, the
coule would occasionally visit
each other. But on Sunday night
things were different. Guadamuz
called Carrillo several times
and when she went to the man's
home, only 100 metres away, she
saw that he had planned to kill
her. However, the ending was
totally different than what the
man had planned.
According to the woman's
daughter, Guadamuz began to
abuse Carrillo. Guadamuz took
out a pistol and shot his former
partner, however, the bullet
grazed her face. Injured, she
continue to fight. The man, in
the scuffle, was able to get a
hold of a knife, continuing to
threaten the woman, injuring her
in the wrist.
In the scuffle, while Guadamuz
was distracted, Carrillo was
able to get a hold of the gun
and fire two shots into the
man's chest, running out of the
house and asking for a call to
911.
The couple had a history of
violence where on two past
occasions the woman had turned
to the police and the court for
help.
