June Inflation 6.869%
The accumulted inflation for the month of June was 6.86%, according to information by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC).

According to INEC, the cost of rice increased 9.27%, coffee 3.93%, papaya 29.46%, soft drinks 4.01% and tomatoes 15.20%.

In contract, the price of eggs dropped by 12.44%, gasoline came down 3.51%, chayote, carrots and string beans all dropped 29.41%, 16.965% and 41.13% respectively.

The inflation rate between July 2004 and June 2005 was 13.76%, higher than the last two years for the same period.
