Jealousy Behind Crime of Passion: Husband Shoots Wife Then Turns Gun on Himself
Police theorize that jealousy was the motivation behind 42 year old Geovanni González Cortés to murder "his woman", Ana Yency Bonilla, 39 years of age, with three gunshots to the stomach and then committing suicide with one bullet in the mouth.

The incident occurred in front of the couple's home in Urbanización Las Cumbres de San Francisco de Heredia, where they lived with their two children aged 18 and 20. The children were inside the home when Geovanni decided on his mortal actions inside their vehicle at 8:20pm.

Soledad González, Geovanni's mother, described the couple as very happy, married for many years, though both were very jealous of each other. Soledad said that the couple often argued over their jealous feelings and believes that that jealousy was the cause of this unfortunate accident.

"Both were very attractive and marriage agreed with them", said Soledad.

Ana's mother had no comment as she was in shock of what had just occurred to her daughter.

The Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) was quickly at the scene and along with Red Cross workers, there was nothing they could do. The couple had already lost all signs of life, all was left for the emergency team was to attend to and console the family.

Police has to cordon off the area to avoid the curious from contaminating the scene of the crime of passion, including barring newspaper reporters from taking photographs.
