25% of Tico Labour Force With "Informal" Work
Acording to the results of the Estudio Indicadores de la Situación Ocupacional en Centroamérica done by the Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), 25% of the Costa Rican labour force works informally, that is, these workers work at jobs and for employers who do not respect the "Código de Trabajo" - Labour Code - and thus don't benefit from job equality and job security like the rest of the work force.

Corruption is Worsening
A full 72% of Costa Ricans believe that corruption has become worse in the last three years. This percentage is surpassed only by that on Nicaragua, at 74%, according to a Transparency International survey.
