Arias Walks Through Central Market Amid Hugs and Kisses
Though politicians are prohibited from political propaganda during the holiday season, it didn't stop presidential candidate frontrunner, Oscar Arias, to mingle with the crowd in San José downtown Central Market.

Arias was welcomed with hugs and kisses and much affection, who along with Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) legislative hopefuls and San José mayor, Johnny Araya, sat with the common folks enjoying a lunch counter meal in one of the busiest and oldest market in the country.

"Twenty years ago I made the walk through the market and received the same welcome, love and affection that commits me to many Costa Ricans who are a humble and loving people", said Arias.

Comments like "if only the election were today!", "No one will take away our presidency!", "I miss you very much", You are the future president!" and "We need a man with experience!" were all part of the walk through the market that saw many wanting to shake Arias' hand and hug him.

There were even hints of "piropos" - flattering gestures - by some of the "señoras" (older women) as the presidential candidate walked by. "Mi hombre precioso" (my sweet man), was one of the comments overheard. Arias is single.
