Corrections

We all make mistakes.  Here are the latest ones we’ve made at Inside Costa Rica:

October 9th, 2015 – A story we published, originally titled “Costa Rica consumer association calls for 100 percent tax on imported beer,” was significantly inaccurate in its first publication.  The story was retitled to “Costa Rica consumer association calls for tougher enforcement of tax on imported beer,” as a result.  Instead of a new tax, the association mentioned in the story called for a change in which the way the tax is collected.  We regret the error.

June 4th, 2015 – We have redacted a story over concerns as to its accuracy, pending more information.

December 5th, 2014 – A story that we published on December 5th, 2014, stated that the price of regular gasoline would fall from ¢720/liter to ¢689 – in fact, regular gasoline fell to ¢655.  We regret the error.  (Appreciation to reader Gary Boyd)

November 18th, 2014: A story we published titled “Luis Milanes shutters Europa, Radisson hotels; fires 220 workers” was retitled to “Luis Milanes shutters Europa, Radisson casinos; fires 220 workers” and the article text was revised to reflect information received that the closures were only of the casinos.  UPDATE: It turns out the Hotel Europa has indeed completely closed.  Click here for our follow up story.

August 1st, 2014:  A story we published on August 1st, 2014, originally titled “73-year-old man dies trying to rape his sister,” incorrectly identified the woman involved as the man’s sister.  She is in fact the man’s sister-in-law.  We regret the error.
