It Is Ready With The TLC
The ministro de Comercio
Exterior, Marco Vinicio
Ruiz; the ministro de la
Presidencia, Rodrigo
Arias; and the canciller
de la República, Bruno
Stagno, met on Wednesday
with United States
Secretary of State,
Condoleezza Rice, while
in Pamama, and informed
that the Costa Rica will
be ready with the
Tratado de Libre
Comercio (TLC) - Free
Trade Agreement - that
will go into effect
January 1, 2009.
New Law To Combat Rising

The Comisión Especial de
Seguridad Ciudadana del
Parlamento (special
legislative commission
on citizen security)
said it has completed
discussions on the
motions and that the Ley
de Protección de
Víctimas y Testigos bill
is ready to be presented

Weekend
The autopista Próspero
Fernández (Santa Ana -
San José) will be
completely closed from
10pm Saturday night to
2pm on Sunday. The
closure will between San
José and Escazú to allow
crews to work on the
widening of the bridge
