Central Bank Blamed For
High Inflation
The Banco Central de
Costa Rica (BCCR) is
being blamed for the
high inflation in Costa
Rica, mainly due to its
failure to provide a
stable economic policy
to reduce inflation and
to contol interest rates
and the exchange rate.
This according to
economist Jorge Guardia.
No ATM's At Night At
State Banks
The Banco de Costa Rica
(BCR) said yesterday it
will join the
unprecedented move by
the Banco Nacional de
Costa Rica (BN) to shut
down its Automated
Teller Machines (ATM's)
at night. The BCR has
408 ATM's, while the BN
has 396.
