Alcohol Involved in Most Deaths,
Study Reveals
Although the magnitude of
alcoholism in Costa Rica is
unknown, the Caja Costarricense
de Seguro Social (CCSS) affirms
that alcohol is the principal
cause in many deaths attended to
by clinics and hospitals.

accident on the Bulevar

power and cable in a 5
block radius. A vehicle
hit a light pole,
knocking it down and
causing the power
outage. No serious
injuries were reported
and alcohol is believed
to be cause of the
accident. Power
was restored just before
