April 15th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) At least two explosions rocked the finish line of the Boston Marathon about an hour ago, killing at least three people and injuring at least 30, though those numbers have not yet been officially confirmed.
The blasts occurred a few seconds apart on opposite sides of the finish line, according to CNN.
The explosions occurred about an hour after the first of the race’s nearly 27,000 runners crossed the finish line. The race was halted following the explosions, as well as subway service in the area.
Paramedics were treating several victims at the scene. Troops from the Massachusetts National Guard were also assisting police.
It is believed that the explosions may be terrorist-related, though ICR is currently awaiting official confirmation.
