To Sell Off Jewellery on The Cheap
Looking to buy jewellery on the cheap? The
Banco Popular may be the answer, as the bank
will be selling off jewellery left as
security and not claimed by their owners, at
half or more of the their original value.
The sale will be at the Centro de Alhajas
del Banco Popular, in Barrio Amón, San José.
The bank will offer more than 200 pieces of
jewellery and diamonds starting at 8:45am
and run to 4:30pm.
Shirley Barboza, co-ordinating the sale,
said that there all kinds of items
available, at prices below the market prices
for the items, like an 18 carat choker chain
in white gold and diamonds and pearls.
Barboza says the item could cost up to
us$10.000 on the market, but is being
offered at the sale for only ¢2 million
colones (us$3.500).
In addition, the bank will offer financing
on items purchased with only a 30% down
payment, with the item being held by the
bank, as security, until the balance is paid
off.
Barboza added that next Saturday there will
be an auction for the unsold items.
