Heredia - San José To Start Running Middle
of June
If you live and/or work in Heredia, good
news: the commuter train will start running
in a couple of weeks. At least that is the
plan by the Instituto Costarricense de
Ferrocarriles (Incofer) as announced
yesterday by its president, Miguel
Carabaguíaz.
Carabaguíaz said that the Spanish
technicians have completed their adjustments
to the four Apolo trains, adapting the
wheelbases to the Costa Rican tracks.
The railway chief said all that is left is
to build a platform at the Universidad
Interamericana, in Heredia, and adjust the
ramps at the central station in San Jose.
The train ride will cost ¢350 colones, one
way, with the first train leaving the
Heredia station to San José at 6am and
running every 15 minutes until 7:45am.
Service will then resume at 4pm and run
until 6:45pm.
The train from San José to Heredia at 6:30am
and run to 7:15am and then again from 4:30pm
to 6:15pm.
The Heredia - San José train will run only
from Monday to Friday.
