Intel "Hecho En Costa
Rica"
The next time you open
the box of your new
Intel powered desktop
computer, take a closer
look at the label
processor label, it may
say "hecho en Costa
Rica" (made in Costa
Rica), as Intel rolled
out its new Core i7
processor on Monday.
Intel Core i7 is a
family of three Intel
Desktop x86-64
processors, the first
processors released
using the Intel Nehalem
microarchitecture and
the successor to the
Intel Core 2 family. All
three models are
quad-core processors.
Some 80 Costa Ricans
worked on the
development and
production of the Core
i7 processor, involved
in the design of chip,
adjustment to the
assembly machinery and
software.
According to Intel, the
chip has faster,
intelligent, multi-core
technology that applies
processing power where
it's needed most,
delivering an incredible
breakthrough in PC
performance. They are
the best desktop
processors on the
planet.
The Core i7 comes in
three speeds: 3.20 GHz,
2.93 GHz and 2.66 GHz
with a price tag of
us$999 for the fastest
to us$284 for the 2.66.
