Gringo Loco Ordered To
Psychiatric Hospital
Frederick Norman Kelch,
termed as the "gringo
loco" by the Spanish
language media, was
ordered to six months
preventive detention,
following his retention
of is family Thursday
evening and shooting six
bullets from a high
caliber rifle fro his
rooftop, killing a
neighbour.
The preventive detention
was confirmed by Isabel
Hernández, of the press
office of the Poder
Judicial.
According to Hernández,
Kelch will spend the
first three months of
detention at the
Hhospital Psiquiátrico
(Psychiatric hospital)
in Pavas, west of San
José, where he will
undergo exams by
doctors, to determine if
the man should remain in
the psych hospital or
sent to a regular jail
to complete his
detention while
prosecutors prepare for
trial.
Kelch is charges with
murder and possession of
illegal weapons.
