Route 32 Closed This Weekend As Work Crews Paint Lines
Travelling on Route 32 (San José - Limón highway) around the Zurquí will be closed today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) between 9:00am and 3:00pm as work crews continue with the painting of lines on the pavement.

The other roads that will have traffic interrupted as well as the Interamericana sur (Pérez Zeledón-Paso Canoas), the Interamericana norte (San Ramón-La Fortuna), and the San Carlos- Tilarán route, although these routes will not be completely closed off.

Some 75.000 vehicles daily use route 32.

Transit authorities are asking drivers to find an alternate route around the Zurquí, suggesting Vara Blanca or Turrialba. Vara Blanca is the route north of Heredia, while Turrialba is by way of Cartago.

The director of the Policia de Tránsito, Germán Marín, said that passage through the Zurquí will be completely closed off and his officers will be on duty to ensure no traffic gets through.

The section of the highway is bad need of demarcation as the road pavement counts with no lines separating the two lanes or shoulder markings.
