US Massive Deportations
Censured
Central American
pro-human rights
organizations condemned
massive expatriations of
migrants from the US,
and called regional
governments to urge
Washington to stop it.
Activists from the
Central American Council
of Human Rights
Ombudsmen (CCPDH) called
for regional leaders to
intensify contacts with
US authorities to stop
anti-immigrants raids in
the US.
The CCPDH reported on
Monday that forced
repatriations unveiled
incongruence of an
allegedly developed
society that needs
immigrants but, at the
same time, chase and
criminalize them.
The text also encouraged
Central American leaders
to implement effective
programs to welcome and
incorporate expatriated
nationals in the
society.
The CCPDH groups human
rights organizations
Guatemala, Honduras,
Nicaragua, Costa Rica,
Panama, and Belize. |
