Confirms 69 Cases Of AH1N1 Flu; No Deaths
The Panamanian Health Ministry said Friday
that tests confirmed 69 cases of swine flu
in the country, four more than on Wednesday.
All of the infected people are being treated
at home, not in hospitals, the ministry said
in a statement. No deaths were reported.
Among the infected, 33 are men and 36 are
women.
According to the ministry, 43 of the 69
infected are under the age of 15.
Of the total, 47 are located in Panama City.
The World Health Organization Friday
officially reported 11,168 confirmed cases
of A/H1N1 influenza in 42 countries, with 86
confirmed deaths. The virus, also called
swine flu, continued to be concentrated in
the Americas. The U.S. registered 5,764
cases, including nine deaths, and 3,892 were
reported in Mexico, where 75 have died.
Canada has 719 confirmed cases.
