Church In Costa Rica Against Gay Marriage
Last Sunday at various Catholic church
parishes Costa Rica, volunteers began
collecting signatures demanding that a
referendum be held in the country on the
issue of gay marriages.
San Jose Archbishop, Hugo Barrantes, told
the daily Spanish language, Prensa
Libre, that the campaign is an initiative by
the faithful who “defend life, the
principles of the Church and marriage.”
The campaign, he said, seeks to convince
Costa Ricans to vote against “gay marriage,
if lawmakers don’t realize that this is
pernicious and perverse for society.” |
