Consumption On the Increase Worldwide
Costa Rican beef is consumer more each day
and better paid on an international level
and the statistics back up the claim by the
Corporación Ganadera (Corfoga), as exports
to other countries is increasing.
According to Corfoga, Costa Rican beef has
shown a 7% increase in exports during the
first quarter of 2009, as compared to the
same period in 2008.
Erik Quirós, president of Corfoga, says that
in the first quarter of 2008, beef exports
were 3.890 tons, while in 2009 the amount of
exports was 4.577 tons.
Costa Rica exports 20% of its beef
production.
