Journalists Protest Seizure of Colleague's
Photos
The Journalists Guild has protested the
seizure of photos and a video by federal
agents from a reporter for Diario Extra and
Channel 42, who had covered the crash of a
helicopter carrying cocaine.
The Guild says public agencies are not
permitted to make such seizures without a
court order.
According to the newspaper, agents of the
Organismo de Investigacion Judicial (OIJ)
confiscated the material collected by Elías
Alvarado Jiménez.
The authorities said that the reporter
didn't carry press identification and could
not prove his status.
