Minister Mariano Fernandez lauded the
important role of Venezuela within Latin
American politics and confirmed the official
visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to
Chile.
Fernandez announced the official visit of
Venezuelan leader on June 14-15 without
giving details over the agenda, and said we
can't be working without stressing the role
of Venezuela within Latin American policy.
Chavez will visit Chile, accepting an
invitation made by Chile President Michelle
Bachelet during the recent Summit of the
Americas.
Chilean FM stressed Chile maintains good
commercial relations with Venezuela in
several areas and said they will debate
issues such as energy, global warming and
regional integration.
Fernandez also indicated besides the good
diplomatic ties with Venezuela, a
significant number of Chilean people live in
that country, as well as important Chilean
business being located there.
Chilean FM, who is schedule to participate
in a ministerial meeting of the Latin
America-European Union in Prague, will also
soon visit Colombia and Ecuador. He will
later join Bachelet in France and Holland. |
