CAF Approves
$210 Million Loan For Panama's Banking
System
Panama - The Andean Development Corp., or
CAF, approved a us$210 million credit line
for Panama to strengthen the liquidity of
the country's banking system.
The loan will be channeled through the Banco
Nacional de Panama, a state institution that
also acts as a commercial and development
bank, CAF said Monday in a press release.
The goal of the credit line is to
"strengthen the liquidity of the banking
system," CAF said.
The Caracas-based CAF focuses mainly on
making low-interest loans to countries in
the region for development and
infrastructure projects.
