Zero-Visa
Between Russia and Argentina
Buenos Aires - Russian Foreign Minister
Sergei Lavrov signed on Wednesday an
agreement with Argentina on mutual zero-visa
travel.
The document was already signed by Argentine
Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana in Buenos
Aires on March 11, Argentine Ambassador in
the Russian Federation Leopoldo Bravo told
Prensa Latina.
Bravo attended the Russian signing ceremony
accompanied by other diplomats. Also present
were local and foreign journalists.
This event is important from the political
point of view, as we hope to turn links
between Argentina and Russia into a
strategic relation, as agreed by Presidents
Cristina Fernandez and Dmitri Medvedev
during the former's visit to Russia on
December 2008, he added.
People hold banners with anti-violent crimes
slogans during a rally in Buenos Aires,
March 18, 2009. Some 8,000 citizens gathered
at downtown Buenos Aires Wednesday to call
for the government to take actions in
striking the violent crimes and ensure the
public security.
