Venezuelan and
Colombian FM's Discuss Cooperation
Caracas - Venezuelan Foreign Minister
Nicolas Maduro and his Colombian counterpart
Jaime Bermudez met on Wednesday to discuss
the cooperation and strengthening relations
between both countries.
Bermudez said he is satisfied with the
beginning of the political dialogue to help
strengthening the relations of trust between
both countries.
Both Ministers evaluated the creation of a
common fund for 200 million U.S. dollars to
finance projects of common interest.
Each country will give 100 million dollars
to the common fund "as a starting capital",
Maduro told the press.
They also discussed a bilateral agenda of
work, which will be finally decided on the
next meeting between Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez and his Colombian counterpart
Alvaro Uribe.
In the meeting Maduro and Bermudez shared
experiences related to the agriculture and
food security in order to make joint
investments, Maduro said.
In his side, Bermudez said that the common
work agenda between both countries is large
and it is to move ahead on new projects
"mainly on the current (world economic)
crisis situation."
