AH1N1 Flu Spreads in Central America

The AH1N1 flu virus  keeps spreading in Central America as the number of cases rose to over 1,200 cases.

Regional health authorities talk of 330 cases in Panama, 216 in Nicaragua, 208 in Guatemala, 160 in  El Salvador, Honduras has 100 and 189 in Costa Rica .

The highest contagion rate prevails among the population under 30 years of age, says the call which reiterated the need for regular hand washing and to cover one's mouth when coughing and/or sneezing.

In El Salvador, Health Minister Isabel Rodriguez issued a yellow alert.

Statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO) indicate that the Flu A (H1N1) pandemic has already caused over 180 deaths and over 44,000 infected in 90 countries.
