Only One Ferry
Providing Service Between Puntarenas and
Paquera
Only one ferry is currently operating
between Puntarenas y Paquera following an
incident on the Tambor II when an preventive
alarm went off Saturday night.
The Naviera Tambor that operates the two
ferrys from the Puntarenas port said that
the Tambor II was taken out of service for a
complete inspection of the ferry to
determine if there is a problem.
Currently only the Tambor I is providing
service that leaves the Paquera docks at
5am, 9am, 1pm, 5pm and 9pm and the
Puntarenas docks at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and
11pm.
The Naviera Tambor had scheduled to take the
Tambor I out of service for June 23 and 24
for regular maintenance. For the time being
the maintenance schedule has been pushed
back waiting the resuming of service by the
Tambor II.
