SELA Venezuela Event on Migration
Caracas - The Latin American Economic
System (SELA) is to debate as of Wednesday on human
resources migration from Latin American and
Caribbean countries.
The event, entitled "Qualified Human Resources
Migration from Latin American and Caribbean
Countries. Contemporary trends and perspectives,"
will be run until Thursday.
The 27 member states will analyze the most relevant
national and regional experiences to prevent the
migration of those people, a press release from that
entity states.
Also on the list is to establish possible monitoring
actions on migrations and development in the
framework of SELA, with the participation of member
states and supported by specialized organizations.
There is no doubt that the external mobility of
qualified human resources on a large scale from
Latin America and the Caribbean is a sensibtive,
complex issue of particular significance, not only
for debating but also for defining and applying
regional development policies, the SELA recognizes.
It considers the topic a challenge and proposes to
tackle it integrally, not only in the economic, but
also in the social and cultural perspective. |
