Call Centres
Looking To Hire 600
Five call centres in Costa Rica are looking
to fill 600 job openings. The main
requirements is to have a good command of
English and be ready to start work
immediately.
The five are Stream, AEGIS, Amadeus, ICT
Group and ACE, all located in Heredia and
focus on providing "outsourcing" services to
financial, technical, human resource and
telemarketing companies.
According to Gabriela Llobet, director of
Coalicion Costarricense de Iniciativas de
Desarollo (CINDE) - the Costa Rican
Investment Promotion Agency - the job
openings are due to the good times the
services sector in Costa Rica.
"This is great news for the country. In
times of crisis there are opportunities in
this sector, helped by the credibility of
the country and the types of businesses
located here", said Llobet.
According to CINDE there are at least 20
such Call Centre operations in Costa Rica,
23 alone have established themselves in
Costa Rica with the help of CINDE, employing
12.000.
The first call centre to officially open its
doors in Costa Rica was in 1995 by ACER,
which was bought out by Sykes in 1999. |
