Prices Go Up At Midnight
The price of crude oil on international
markets keeps dropping, but gasoline prices
in Costa Rica keep on going up, with the
next round of increases taking effect at
12:01am Friday.
The new prices were published today in the
official government publication, La Gaceta
and take effect the following day.
The new prices at the pumps will be ¢570 for
a litre of super (up from ¢492); ¢551 for
regular (up from ¢472); and ¢462 for diesel
(up from ¢400).
Kerosene, jet fuel and propane gas prices
will also go up.
However, the good news is that the falling
prices of crude oil on international markets
will mean a drop in August when the
Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios
Públicos (Aresep) analysis the monthly
request by the state refinery, RECOPE.
But, the drop won't be significant,
according to Carolina Mora on behalf of the
Aresep, explaining that the drop may be only
¢3 or ¢4 colones.
