Where Is The Quick Pass Now?
Several months ago the HSBC offered the
"Quick Pass", a novel device (for Costa
Rica) that would speed a driver through the
toll stations of the autopista Próspero
Fernández (San Jose - Caldera highway),
saving 10 minutes or more at each passing.
The bank took out newspaper, radio and
billboard ads to promote the QuickPass.
But, where is the Quick Pass now? A month
after the opening of the Escazú? Well, there
is no fast and easy answer.
The autopistas del Sol have yet to finish
installing the "reader" system that would
allow the Quick Pass in use.
Construction of the system in the lanes that
would accept the Quick Pass device for
payment of tolls is going slow and no
definite date has yet to be announced.
The Quick Pass is available for $15 to HSBC
customers and $30 for non-customers and
comes with a $1 a month maintenance fee.
What is missing now is that the HSBC start
charing customers the maintenance fee for
those who rushed to make a purchase, even
though the device cannot be used.
Anything is possible in Costa Rica!
